One of my Twitter friends suggested I post my tweets on a blog. Here are the original tweets I authored, along with a few of my favorite lyric-tweets.

Wondering who is more idealistic: Libertarians for believing in the invisible hand or Democrats for believing in the government?
Or republicans believing in both?

180 billion/ 303,824,640 (US pop) = $592.45, each American’s share of the AIG bailout. Giving back half their bonus? How nice.

In response to request from @RLC_Updates: Question to followers: if you could change ONE part of the GOP platform and message, what would it be and why?
My answers:
Quit spending even more than the democrats. I became a Libertarian after reading PJ O’Rourke’s Parliament of Whores.
… and quit the racist, fundamentalist, moralizing, fear-mongering crap like sponsoring the Defense of Marriage Act.

Michelle Obama is planning a vegetable garden. Where are they going to find fertilizer in Washington DC?

If I vote for anything other than what I believe is best, then I’m responsible for the problem, and that’s worse than losing.

World’s worst quality policy: “We comply with laws and regulations.” Support businesses that have higher standards!
March 29, 2009
If we all limit ourselves to the lesser of two evils, we will always have two evils to choose from.
“Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they’re yours.” ~ Richard Bach, Illusions

Never underestimate the power of always doing what you believe is right.

A good boss taught me: Leaders are made by their followers, not by appointment.

Q: How is the US debt different from Madoff? A: After scheme is exposed, people keep giving them money.

If a co. is irresponsible, why expect govt to fix? Set high standards for co’s you trade with; walk away if they disgust you.
Smart companies know that doing what’s right is good for business. Support them with your trade.

Tolerance fuels growth, and diversity fuels value in trade. I seek out people w/different perspectives, interests, skills.
I’ve learned a lot from fools and Buddhists: Approach everyone w/an open mind. Expecting the best allows people to delight you.

Last US “libertarian” choice was between racist and author of DOMA. Lesser of “n” evils is no better than lesser of 2 evils.

If I find myself asking “What is least wrong?” I know there must be other options. I think until my Q changes to “What is most right?”
When I find myself asking “What is most right?” I consider facts then collect more and sleep on it if needed. Then I listen to my gut.
After I think I’ve determined what is most right, I make a point of staying open to new facts and perspectives.
When it comes to faith (absence of facts) I think more in terms of questions than conclusions & I like to believe the best.

Intent of most rules is good despite having opposite effect. Many rules are implemented in ways that preclude honoring good intent.
Assume good intent of rules and ask Qs. When good, intent can become a set of principles to honor and give defensive actions power.
When I agree intent of a rule is good, I take responsibility for honoring that intent if I decide best action is to break the rule.
RT: I hate rules but follow them when I agree w/their intent or when I’m unwilling to deal with the consequences of their enforcement.
The power of each rule is a product of the consistency of its enforcement AND the righteousness of its intent.

Just for today, imagine there is no government. What would you do the same? What would you do differently?
April 24, 2009
Government grows where we allow it. Anarchy exists where there is peace.

A friend asked: Is it more important to be effective or right? I groaned & said effective. Her reply: Wrong. Sometimes you have to be right.

When I hear myself complaining, I stop and think about it. Then I either accept it or do something to try to make it better.
When I hear myself saying, “could’ve” “should’ve” or “would’ve” I stop and rephrase my sentence like, “Next time let’s…”

Q: What’s worse than paying taxes? A: A government that uses your money efficiently.

The EEOC regs are inherently racist because they require tracking by race… yet another reg w/opposite intent vs. effect.

My next few tweets contain lyrics from an amazing song I heard last night by Brother Ali: http://tinyurl.com/25×3dl (SWEARING)
Legacy so ingrained in the way that we think we no longer need chains to be slaves/ Lord it’s a shameful display.
At the end of the year add up what they subtracted/Three outta twelve months your salary pays for that madness/Man thats savage.
What’s left get a big ass plasma/To see where they made Dan Rather point the damn camera.
Only approved questions get answered/Now stand your ass up for that national anthem ~Brother Ali “Uncle Sam Goddamn”

The most effective moral arguments are questions.
I think most of us are born with much wisdom & wonder. I feel lucky to have great friends and kids who help me get back to it. (to @anomalist)

Real power comes from others volunteering to follow, defined by followers. Privilege comes from force & is much weaker.
Anarchy is not just a desire to eliminate the State: it is a moral commitment to voluntary interactions & non-violent principles. -Tremblay (via @goodiemonster)

Candidates may say they’re “green” but govt has vested interest in pollution (taxes & donations). Protecting our planet is up to us.

My 11-yo just said: “Pretty soon the govt will declare money hazardous & ask us to turn it in so they can dispose of it.” LOL

Reading cases re: separation of church & state. Many nice words re “wall of separation” then govt does what it wants anyway.

Changed my avatar to banish all statist imagery. Free market anarchy love Yay!
June 5, 2009 to @reiver: My new avatar represents my vision: free market, love and voluntary interactions (business and non-business).

Had a great convo yesterday w/a cabbie re: difference between law and ethics & how each affects practice of mental health in US & Pakistan.
On past biz trips I resented the hassle of having to get cash to pay cabbies. Now I’m happy to offer them cash.

When out of power, Dems fight for peace & GOP fights for freedom. In power, they all fight to keep power.
